Wave Wahines, have been in the surfing community for 9 years. We started as a small surf club in Croyde and have since expanded to become a leading voice for women and girls from all backgrounds in the UK
A world where every woman and girl — no matter her background — feels safe, seen, and celebrated in the ocean.and inspiring the next generation of surfers.
Wave Wahines exists to create joyful, inclusive spaces where women and girls can access surfing, connect with nature, and build community.
Led by women of colour, we work to break down barriers to the ocean, champion representation, and empower others through surf, sisterhood, and saltwater healing

The focus of our sessions is fun and connection, both socially and with the ocean and nature around us. We want to empower women and girls to feel they have a space within the ocean and the surfing community that is always accessible, inclusive and safe.
Wave Wahines welcome all abilities and levels of experience - we can help you achieve a specific surf goal or take that first step.

We deliver a trauma informed approach to surfing as part of a specifically designed program in line with the Groundswell Community Project Curriculum. The ocean and surfing can provide platform to heal, reconnect and evaluate in a safe and supportive environment.

Ensuring women and girls from all communities and backgrounds feel welcome is very important to us and we often run programs with diverse ethnic and cultural communities to provide entry into surfing and ocean life with an awareness of barriers that may exist to participation.
